MightyVet: Veterinary Self-Worth and the Psychology of Money is an open-enrollment, self-study course is based on the archive of a MightyVet webinar presented on March 7, 2019.
When asked why veterinary medicine was their goal when younger, few veterinarians will say “so I can discuss money with clients.” But it is a factor in order to provide service to patients and clients, as difficult and distasteful as it may be. Recognizing and embracing self-worth as a veterinarian is core component of addressing this issue. Veterinarians need to have courageous conversations that impact their own compensation. This course looks at building a better sense of confidence, not only in personal abilities, but in the profession as a whole.
Both the webinar and this archive course were made available to the veterinary community via the financial and administrative donation of VetMedTeam. We believe in the MightyVet initiative.
The webinar was the 8th in a series of free webinars addressing compassion fatigue, burnout, ethics exhaustion, decreased career satisfaction, and suicide. Unaddressed the outcome is often career and life threatening.
This course is based on the archive of the webinar and is appropriate for veterinarians, credentialed technicians, and practice team members, along with vet and tech school students.
Upon completion of this course a participant will be able to discuss the importance of recognizing and embracing self-worth as a veterinarian, including how self-worth issues can lead to the devaluing of services, potentially not offering the best care and/or discounting services, therefore having a direct impact on personal compensation.
