Course Focus and Learning Objectives
VetCE on Demand: Basics of Triage and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Zoological Companion Animals utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name. Do you have treatment anxiety when presented with an emergency rabbit, bearded dragon or parrot? This course reviews the basic principles of triage and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in zoological companion animal (ZCA) species. It provides information and tools to help practitioners and team members feel more comfortable handling initial triage in these species. Additionally, it discusses similarities, which are many, and differences to CPR in ZCA species, highlighting anatomic and physiologic differences between small mammals, reptiles, and birds. At the end of the course participants should be able to: identify a critical patient and signs of an impending arrest based upon triage evaluation outline relevant species-specific anatomy as it pertains to CPR in small mammal, reptile, and avian species develop a plan for CPR in the discussed species

If after 60 days the completion requirements have not been submitted, the participant will be graded out of the course as incomplete.

Completion Requirements
The completion requirements for this course are: complete the quiz with a score of 80% or better - multiple attempts are permitted submit the course survey Upon submission of the final completion requirement, the participant will automatically be marked as completed and the course completion email will be sent out. The participant will have immediate access to the certificate.
