Course Focus and Learning Objectives

VetCE on Demand: Pharma MythBusters ECC Edition utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name.

Do we still need to use heparin to flush peripheral IV catheters? Should we still stock doxapram in the neonatal resuscitation kit? What about administering steroids or pain medications to emergency patients? This course addresses these emergency and critical care pharmacological questions along with evidence to support recommendations.

At the end of the course participants should be able to:

  • outline the principles of neonatal resuscitation
  • explain analgesic options and appropriate choices in the ER
  • compare and contrast gastrointestinal motility agents

Participant Feedback

When asked what aspects of the course liked best some responses were:

...Well organized and presented

...This lectured answered some questions I had about changes we’ve made in the ER

...I did not expect to learn as much as I did in such a short amount of time. I found the neonatal resuscitation and the ECC factors impacting GI motility sections to be the most informational to me
