VetCE on Demand: Less Fear, More Hope - How Research is Driving New Strategies in Hemangiosarcoma Treatment and Prevention utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name.
Hemangiosarcoma remains one of the most challenging and devastating diseases in veterinary medicine. Its heterogeneity and aggressive nature have made meaningful therapeutic progress frustratingly slow. This course introduces a forward-thinking approach that combines cutting-edge targeted therapies with rationally designed preventative strategies, offering hope for better outcomes for patients, clients, and veterinary teams alike.
After completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- describe the mechanism of action and therapeutic potential of eBAT, a bispecific targeted angiotoxin
- discuss the rationale, design, and preliminary outcomes of the PRO-DOX clinical trial investigating propranolol as an adjunct to doxorubicin chemotherapy
- outline emerging knowledge of targeted therapies and preventative strategies to clinical discussions with clients
