Course Focus and Learning Objectives

VetCE on Demand: : Digital Cytology – The Past, Present, & Future of this Innovative Diagnostic Service utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name.

This course will provide participants with a robust overview of digital cytology aimed at enabling an understanding of the factors of this innovative diagnostic solution. It will cover terminology, equipment, and modalities alongside real cases that will help create successful discussions with colleagues and providers about digital cytology. The presentation includes digital slides to demonstrate what to expect with current technology. The end goal is to help practices successfully adopt the valuable diagnostic service for the benefit of patients.

At the end of the course participants should be able to:

  • discuss what digital cytology is and how it applies to telehealth
  • explain the difference between Region of Interest and Whole Slide Scanning and why that is important when deciding how to submit a cytology sample
  • apply a change management model for the successful adoption of digital cytology
