Course Focus and Learning Objectives
VetCE on Demand: The Science of Medical Massage and Why It Belongs in Your Practice utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name. In contrast to other forms of massage, medical massage focuses on problems related to a patient’s diagnosis and implements techniques to achieve specific outcomes. It complements conventional medical care by reducing stress, pain, and discomfort as well as facilitating the healing process through neuromodulation, myofascial relaxation, and improved circulation. Techniques draw from a variety of professions and philosophies, including osteopathic manual therapy. Clinical applications discussed in this presentation include approaches for post-surgical recovery, especially for orthopedic cases, as well as in critical care medicine, neurologic injury, geriatric care, palliative medicine, and more. The completion requirements for this course are: complete the quiz with a score of 80% or better - multiple attempts are permitted submit the course survey Upon submission of the final completion requirement, the participant will automatically be marked as completed and the course completion email will be sent out. The participant will have immediate access to the certificate.
