Course Focus and Learning Objectives

The 3 Keys to Unlocking "Yes": Strategies for Increasing Client Compliance continuing education course was made possible through an educational partnership with Trupanion.

Veterinarians begin their careers wanting to use all the diagnostic and therapeutic skills gained from their mentors, but most are dismayed to find that pet owning clients are not always immediately receptive to recommendations. Fortunately, there are specific skills that veterinarians and practice teams can develop to significantly increase the frequency of hearing “Yes” to treatment plans.

More thorough diagnostic and treatment care benefits veterinary patients and it provides a better understanding and peace of mind for clients. Being able to provide that level of care not only benefits veterinary practices financially, it benefits veterinarians emotionally, as well.

This course is based on the archive of the webinar and is appropriate for veterinarians, credentialed technicians, and practice team members, along with vet and tech school students.

By the end of the course, the participant should be able to:

  • Outline the 3 Keys for Increasing Client Compliance and be able to summarize them to the practice team
  • Discuss how veterinarians have historically damaged the chances of gaining client acceptance and what can be done to counteract it
  • Explain communication recommendations with regards to the clients’ point of view
  • Choose one of the keys to immediately implement in practice
