| Course Focus and Learning Objectives |
This article will discuss the AAHA Senior Care Guidelines for Dogs and Cats, which provide veterinary teams with a thorough framework to enhance the quality and longevity of life for aging pets. Recognizing that aging itself is not a disease, the guidelines stress the importance of individualized wellness care, proactive health screenings, tailored nutrition, and routine communication with pet owners.
After completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- explain what defines a senior pet
- discuss how to evaluate a senior pet
- outline what comprises senior nutrition
- explain how to navigate the end of life for a senior pet

- complete the quiz with a score of 80% or better - multiple attempts are permitted
- submit the course survey
