VetCE on Demand: : Anesthesia Safety – Checklists and Troubleshooting the Anesthetized Patient utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name. This course outlines basic anesthesia safety including the use of checklists to help prevent problems as well as troubleshooting algorithms to quickly recognize and safely treat problems in the anesthetized patient. It offers a brief review of checklist development and implementation, particularly surgical safety and anesthesia machine checklists. The course also includes discussion of peri-anesthetic troubleshooting and a logical safe approach to managing common anesthesia problems. At the end of the course participants should be able to: describe basic anesthesia and surgical safety checklists discuss how to implement checklists to improve safe anesthesia and the role in preventing complications and mishaps outline troubleshooting of common anesthesia problems discuss basic approaches to prevention and treatment to improve safe anesthesia delivery

Completion Requirements
The completion requirements for this course are: complete the quiz with a score of 80% or better - multiple attempts are permitted submit the course survey Upon submission of the final completion requirement, the participant will automatically be marked as completed and the course completion email will be sent out. The participant will have immediate access to the certificate.
