VetCE on Demand: PsyMed: The Science Linking Psychological Stress and Medical Symptoms utilizes the archive of a live presentation under the same name. It is well known that certain behavioral signs can identify chronic psychological stress that eventually may affect medical symptoms. This field is known as “PsyMed.” This course examines why identifying these behaviors is more effective than measuring cortisol. It looks into stress-induced cell adhesion molecule disruption and introduces the “PsyMed Hypothesis” as the connection between pet behavioral health and enjoyable longevity. At the end of the course participants should be able to: discuss testing psychological stress via a review of brain science outline the anatomy and physiology of the adrenal gland discuss a hypothesis for autoimmune and allergy genesis outline testing and treatment strategies for partial hypoadrenocorticism

If after 60 days the completion requirements have not been submitted, the participant will be graded out of the course as incomplete.

The completion requirements for this course are: complete the quiz with a score of 80% or better - multiple attempts are permitted submit the course survey Upon submission of the final completion requirement, the participant will automatically be marked as completed and the course completion email will be sent out. The participant will have immediate access to the certificate.
