    Testimonials
... The course was an easy way to review flea biology, public health aspects of flea control, and flea control. I loved the fact it could be done on line.

... The information was well presented and very up to date and complete.

... In our location, a forest area in a remote part of NW Venezuela, we have a heavy infestation of fleas in the season. We are a monkey rescue shelter and we are sensitive about the possibility of our monkeys being infected by the flea vector. Your course was practical and gave us tools with which to approach our problem. We already use Frontline.

.... I like that I can go at my own pace also as a receptionist I need to be able to talk about fleas and I learned a large amount of new information from this class.

... I feel that this will help me with clients at the veterinary clinic in explaining how to control the flea population.

    Course Instructor
Stephanie Plattner, RVT Stephanie Plattner, RVT
Stephanie is a 1992 graduate of the Purdue University Veterinary Technology Program. Immediately following graduation she went to Knoxville, TN and worked at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in the Radiology Department. During her stay in Tennessee she also worked nights and weekends in Small Animal ICU and volunteered in the Large Animal Hospital. In October of 1993, Stephanie moved back to Indiana to accept a Diagnostic Imaging position with the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. Stephanie is currently still with Purdue and has worked in the Large Animal Surgery, Medicine and Anesthesia sections of the hospital. Currently she works as a full-time teaching technician and is no longer on the clinic floor. Her responsibilities include working with a problem-based learning course and teaching freshman and sophomore veterinary students both in the classroom and in labs. Her position as Instructional Coordinator Technologist is very rewarding and presents many welcome challenges.

Stephanie has held offices in the Indiana Veterinary Technician’s Association (IVTA), National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America as well as the Veterinary Technicians Anesthetist’s Society (VTAS). With VTAS she served as Executive Secretary, Member-at-Large, and as a publishing member of the newsletter team.

In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys reading, playing the piano and gardening. She is quite involved with many ministries at her church and is pursuing a call to ministry. She also enjoys volunteering at both a children’s hospital and with the American Cancer Society.

Stephanie shares her home with her black lab Barkley and a cockatiel named Spider. In the warmer months of the year she loves to spend as much time as possible helping to exercise and train horses at her friend’s boarding stable.
