... I have learned a lot regarding proper examination of the mouth and surrounding structures. It gave me a detailed view of how to go about examining the mouth which in my years of practice I have not paid much attention to. The course gave me a wider view of the different problems involving the oral cavity, the proper diagnostic approach and the best treatment options available.
... I have just recently began preforming routine dental cleanings. This website taught me alot. Dental cleaning is not just getting the patients teeth clean but also preventing complications down the road. All of the information was beneficial to me and it will help me with my understanding of companion animal denistry.
... am a receptionist , and it was good to point out that I play a role in dental care
... the entire course in beneficial to the entire team in the hospital i am encouraging my team mates to take the classes on vetmedteam
... Since our clinic has a dental specialist on staff, we offer many types of dental surgery and correction. This course was very informative in explaining some of the types of treatments we offer. As a result, I will be more informed when speaking with clients and other co-workers. I look forward to continuing with Animal Dentistry 102.
...Terms and anatomy, plus the oral examination- It is a great course that I'm rec. to all vet staff.

I have been a Certified Veterinary Technician since 1981. Almost 20 years of that have been spent at Rau Animal Hospital in Glenside, Pennsylvania. Currently, at work, I hold the title of In-patient Care Supervisor/Dentistry Coordinator. Professionally, I hold the title of President-elect of the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians.
As of the last couple years, I've been privileged to be asked to speak at national veterinary conferences and I hope to continue.
I've written a chapter on Computer Applications in Veterinary Medicine for the Clinical Textbook for Veterinary Technicians due to be released in January 2005 and have written an article for the up-coming February issue of Journal of Veterinary Technology.
I also enjoy the interaction with technicians interested in veterinary dentistry as co-moderator on the VetMedTeam Dentistry Boards.
As always, I look forward to spreading the word of the importance of dentistry in relation to animals.
