Participation in CE through The NAVTA Journal is available to members of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America. For more information, or to join, visit NAVTA. 



There are three reviewed articles per journal issue. Journal issues are published multiple times a year. In addition, there is a special conference edition.



Each article is approved by RACE for 1 credit for technicians.

 

Article Availabilty

The applicable article is available in the May/June 2012 issue of The NAVTA Journal.  It is in both the print version of the journal and online for NAVTA members at www.NAVTA.net.

 

Article Examination Access

Once enrollment is complete, the participant will have access to the examination until the examination is submitted or until the article submission deadline arrives - whichever is earlier. The exam does not need to be taken immediately upon receipt of the exam welcome email.

 

Learning Objectives

To provide an in-depth look at the pathophysiology of diabetic ketoacidosis and the effects on small animals, treatment and role of nursing care, as well as to prepare technicians for complications that commonly occur during treatment.

 

Article Examination Completion Requirements

As per the NAVTA examination protocols, all 10 examination questions must be answered correctly. An examination with a score less than 100% cannot be accepted for credit.



Each enrollment provides for two examinations attempts.



Another enrollment may be submitted if needed to complete. 



The survey must also be submitted in order to receive a certification of completion.



The examination and survey must be submitted by May 3, 2014

 

Continuing Education Credits

Course meets the requirements for 1 RACE hours of continuing education credit for veterinary technicians in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB's RACE approval. However, participants should be aware that some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories and/or restrictions on certain methods of delivery.
