Educating and motivating team members, including yourself, is one of the most essential and rewarding activities that any veterinary hospital can undertake. While it may seem simplistic and obvious, educating and communicating with veterinary team members is an action that many hospitals do not take. For example, many hospital owners feel that they cannot afford to be closed for 2 hours twice a month to conduct employee training. Ask any veterinary management consultant, you can’t afford NOT to do this, regardless of how it gets done.
Team Development: Creating Productive, Positive Team Meetings will provide any team member, owner or employee, with tools that are needed to get meetings at your practice on the right track. This course explains the benefits of team meetings, dealing with problems that may arise, and more importantly gives you the steps to creating productive, positive team meetings.
Team meetings are essential to help your employees or co-workers understand medical protocols, learn about medical conditions, and speak in a consistent, uniform manner when interacting with clients. However, another intangible benefit is one of the most valuable reasons to have properly handled team meetings; it is the relationship building that occurs between employees during the meeting.
This 2 week course is designed to help any member get team meetings started at your practice as well as get the most out of existing meetings. After completion of this course, the student will understand the necessary components of a meeting, and will be supplied with the tools to create your own meeting. Creating Productive, Positive Team Meetings will provide many examples and ideas of meetings that you can use in your practice. This course is great for any member of the team, regardless of position. However, if you are responsible for conducting meetings, then this course will prove invaluable.

... The discussion were VERY beneficial and the modules were well-organized and easy to use.
... the interaction from the instructor. She was wonderful and should definitely be used for teaching in the future.
... All of the assignments were beneficial. Making the assignment contain us doing something that we would have to do for any given meeting, made us actually do it.
... The team building assignments were very helpful, also the importance of having an agenda and posting it before hand is something I will definitely be incorporating. Everything was presented well and I was especially appreciative of the extra time I had to complete it. Thanks! |

This course has been approved for 5 CE credits toward the continuing education requirement for the Certified Veterinary Practice Manager program offered by the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA).
VetMedTeam does not submit management courses to RACE as this organization is structured to provide credits for medical/clinical course, behavior related courses, and other similar topics. Also, most states severely limit or decline the use of management topic credits for veterinary or technician license renewal.
Instead, VetMedTeam submits management and customer service related courses to the VHMA for review and approval. CVPMs (Certified Veterinary Practice Managers) and CVPM candidates may use our VHMA approved courses for required CE credits for either sitting the examination or maintaining certification. |
