EXPERIENCED ASSISTANT QUALIFYING OPTION - ENDS DECEMBER 31, 2013
| Course Description |
Important: The last day to enroll in this AVA Qualifier is December 31, 2013. All participants must submit their attempts for all component examinations no later than January 31, 2014. Any participant who has not submitted by that date will be marked as incomplete. At that point the completion of a NAVTA approved VA training program will be required for everyone, including experienced assistants.
For veterinary assistants with 5 or more years of experience working as an assistant, NAVTA is offering a time-limited option regarding the documentation of skills. Participants who qualify and complete this option are eligible to sit the Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA) examination.
Those who opt to take this option will be required to complete a series of examinations in various areas. The questions cover the duties and responsibilities of the veterinary assistant as well as general practice information.

Timed Examinations
Participants are allowed 300 minutes to complete. Participants need to plan to take the examinations at a time that will allow no interruptions and full concentration. Also, all examinations within the Qualifier must be submitted within 30 days of initial enrollment.
Please note: This opportunity does not articulate for college credit at any AVMA accredited veterinary technology programs.

| Student Login Requirements |

To qualify to use this option to sit the AVA examination, the participant must have 5 or more years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
This is a timed set of examinations. 1.5 minutes is allowed per question within each of the 9 exams. While participants many pay for this option prior to actually working the exams, the link provided after enrollment should not be used until the participant is ready to begin the exams.
Also, all examinations within the Qualifier must be submitted within 30 days of initial enrollment.

| Course Completion Requirements |
The first examination is based on the provided pdf The Veterinary Healthcare Team and requires a passing grade of 100%. The remainng 8 examinations have a passing grade of 75%.
Two attempts per examination are allowed. There are 9 examinations with a total of 200 questions.
Participants who do not attain a passing grade in each examination after 2 attempts are not eligible to re-enroll.
All examinations within the Qualifier must be submitted within 30 days of initial enrollment.

Upon payment the participant has immediate access to the exam portal. Timing will begin once an exam area has been accessed. Please make sure you are prepared to take the exam before accessing.

Please note: Other items from the course catalog, either free or fee-based, may not be ordered at the same time as the Experienced Assistant Qualifying Review Option. In addition, only one participant's order may be placed at a time. This option does not qualify for multi-level discount pricing.
